Andrew Smith say: No. Firstly we continue to waste enormous amounts of energy on consumer goods.
Lighting is only one small part of the total energy consumption.
We waste enormous amounts of materials in the production of those goods.
Then more on running larger and more wasteful devices than ever before.
We have larger homes than ever before.
We have larger cars than ever before and drive greater distances.
We have more people than ever before.
Now what we see today is the result of actions taken over two centuries. We won't see the result of today's consumptions during our lifetime. Nor those of the last 50 years. We primarily see the results of what was happening in our grandparents time.
If we make a change now ( and no one is going to ) then it might be a hundred years before it has a chance of altering the direction of changes even if it is possible.
Alternately the process can be one that, once triggered, is unstoppable. Something which rapidly feeds upon itself.
In other words even if we stopped using lights full stop, and stopped using TV sets, computers, cars, air conditioners etc. Only work in daylight hours and wasted nothing we still might not be able to stop global warming now.

say: No. Global warming is already happening.
I replaced nearly all spotlights to LED's and I am replacing all CFL's to LED as they need replacing. It reduced my electricity bill but it will not prevent global warming. Not dumping even CO2 in the atmosphere will allow the earth to find a new equilibrium some time in the future.

Kano say: No. But it makes sense I replace my CFL when they fail with LED's for a lower cost lighting bill.
