Naguru say: It depends on various other factors which you have to think deeply.

If your star power in the horoscope is good/strong, you can go ahead with such imaginations.

sheldon say: Ancients were very aware of the solar year. 900 years and other big numbers are symbolic. Look I'm not gonna waste out time here just read Joseph Campbell for the best answer

Brigalow Bloke say: No.

Ancient texts, including those much older than the Bible exaggerated the ages of people who were supposed to have lived in times much before they were written down. Manetho, the Egyptian priest who compiled a list of kings of Egypt for the Macedonian general Ptolemy Soter in the early 200s BCE did this and so did the Babylonians.

The writers of the Bible absorbed these myths and put then to their own use.

The length of the year has been known since time out of mind, long before the first texts were written down and so has the length of the cycles of the Moon. You have to know this if you are a farmer or herdsman.

digquickly say: Well that logic doesn't really work a some life expediencies as some only lasted 140 years and that would have been ~11 in "lunar years". The Babylonians who did implement a solar calendar also claimed long life expediencies before the flood. For Ancient man some cultures did use a lunar months while others did not but none, that I know of reckoned, them as years..

In terms of life expectancy we should not doubt what the ancients record even though they seem wildly fantastic. There may have been properties of Earth's atmosphere, magnetic field, climate, an human diet that we're not fully aware of which may have enabled longevity. Additionally, we continually recast the past in-terms of what we understand today as "normal". We should not think of ourselves as the longest living generation as longevity on the earth over time appears to have varied greatly.
