Therefore Current = Power / Voltage = 0.25 / 5 = 0.(In the previous answer 1.25 A is actually an unreasonably large current value).-is it 0.25 x 5 = 1.......
The most commonly used resistors have a power rating of 0.25w. What is the maximum current that can flow through when connected across a 5v supply?
Thanks for your help! :-)

Hello again.

The equation for power P (in watts) in terms of current I (in amps) and voltage V (in volts) is, using the handy triangle:

-----------POWER-----------
VOLTAGE x CURRENT

The relevant equation for current is:

current = power/voltage

=> current = 0.25/5 = 0.05 Amps

Hope that makes sense.

Power = Voltage x Current
Therefore Current = Power / Voltage = 0.25 / 5 = 0.05 A

(In the previous answer 1.25 A is actually an unreasonably large current value).

is it 0.25 x 5 = 1.25

watts x voltage = current (if im wrong i failed my physics exam i sat recently) :P
