Three blocks of mass m, 2m, and 3m are stacked (with 3m on the bottom and m on top, 2m in the middle0 and pulled with a force of 12.0 N (if it makes a difference on the diagram the arrow for force is attached to the bottom block, 3m). There is a friction between the top blocks and the lower blocks and no friction between the bottom block and the floor. The top block is not slipping on the middle block and the middle block is not slipping on the bottom block. What is the magnitude of the frictional force of the 3m block and the 2m block?
If the blocks are pulled for 3.0m what is the change in the kinetic energy of the three block system?
Please explain this to me? I really need to understand this question!!

F = ma 12 = ( 1 + 2 + 3 ) a , a = 4 net force on mid block F = 4 .2 = 8 N so the friction must be at least 8 N. ( Answer of the first question )
Change in the kinetic energy = work
work = F.x = 12.3 = 36 Joule. ( Answer of second question )
Hope this answer will be helpful.

Wouldn't (a) = 2 instead of 4? (1+2+3) = 6 so 12=(6)2
