The human mind can do amazing things, if you say back now and thought about yourself ruling over the world from the moon, you could probably see it.
If you saw something you didn't know, your mind probably substituted a "ghost" like figure in so you would move away from the object/person.
It's like when you dream, none of that ever happens but sometimes it feels as if it did.
I hoped this helped ^_^

el say: Ghosts are a more subtle level of energy. They are part of nature. Doesn't mean the Dude exists.

International Man of Mystery say: Why would you label yourself an atheist without first learning what an atheist is? Atheism is a disbelief in gods and has nothing to do with ghosts or spirits. And it's only capitalized at the beginning of a sentence.

Michael Vicks Dog say: Ghosts aren't real, sorry. Isn't it funny how only superstitious people see superstitious things, and only people that believe in god hear a god speaking in their heads?

Jea say: Bigfoot and Nessie have many "sightings" too, and both are at least as credible as ghosts, and more credible than any god.
-
Nutty Professor say: If thousands of sightings have been reported then why is there no actual evidence?
(Stories from WW1 are not evidence)

Bob say: We are all jumpy in predictable individuals with imaginations that often over ride our better 'common sense'. In times of extreme stress or the feeling of danger, we may convince ourselves that we have seen something. For me, I am now 65 and have never seen a ghost, despite being wary (or afraid) of the dark. I am still open to being convinced otherwise.
