Why is death so scary

Because you have such a secure position in your family, you will miss it. People in general don't always have that close feelling of security. Some people had a bad childhood and the memories of their pre-existance is still clear to them. These people that felt a harmony before incidents of early childhood trauma, tend to prefer the life before childhood and welcome it. And, some people are scared, because their pre-existant memories are not as colorful, so they would prefer the security of this life, for fear of regressing back into the state before birth. Changing this fear may not be possible since, it is due to your own individual experience. But you can choose to appreciate the life that you have now so that you don't have any regrets later, and this should help to subdue these feelings of fear that you are enduring. I would suggest that you read your bible. This will give you a more detailed explanation about your question. Jesus Christ was offered to this world because, it was a general concensus that your fears prevailed due to the activity of the ancient Sumarian culture. This practice devised that the underworld was within their control and that subjection to their alien gods was necessary. There were no guarantees that the people would not suffer. In fact suffering was scripted. And, Jesus Christ came to put that underworld (your fear) into subjection. Reading your bible will strengthen your understanding of this fear. And, it will give you remedy,so that you don't have to continue to suffer from worry, which is loss of faith.

I think what's scary is that it is so unknown, what happens after death is pretty much a total mystery( mind you some religions claim to have their own answers). The idea of eternity, and leaving all that is known to you. Yet death is inevitable, and one of those things that we can't deny.
