I am already prescribed ativan, but i find myself having to take like 3 1mg pills for it to even work, and it doesnt work to well, i mean it works but not well. Im 14...so idk if he'd prescribe it?
I've taken xanax before...I wasnt prescribed it but i took a friends 1 mg pill to see how it effected me...and it works great.
what can i say to him to increase my chances? if he doesnt want to prescribe me xanax what is he most likely to do?

Just tell your Dr. about your anxiety. Anxiolytic medicine is already being prescribed to you, so that is already an option. Your Dr. will likely suggest you try it or another benzo without you even asking for it. If they don't recommend it and you ask for it they will most likely blacklist you as "a drug seeking patient". It may take several months before you get something that works. You know they do make 2mg atavan, right?

Go to the same doctor that prescribed you Ativan and ask for another medicine.
Being prescribed Xanax these days is very difficult. It's garnered such a terrible reputation for abuse - that doctors are too scared to prescribe it and if you ask for it, you'll look like a drug-seeker.

It would basically be impossible. We parents may be idiots sometimes and leave our prescription drugs unlocked, but doctors know better than to prescribe common, addictive drugs of abuse to teenagers.
If you tell your doctor about anxiety, he'll offer ideas, but they won't be tranquilizers.

Dr's can see drug seeking teens a mile away. Especially when the specifically ask for a certain one. They know you liked the high.
So don't really count on it.

At 14 your don't need xanax, you need a doctor that can help you overcome your anxiety without drugs. Xanax is a terribly addictive drug, you really do not want to start taking it. Is your Doctor an MD? Most MD's are not qualified to treat anxiety, all they know to do is give your drugs. Xanax and Atavan and drugs in that class cause changes to your brain chemistry that take a very very long time to recover from. You are way to young to be screwing your brain like that.
