Is going for blood work overkill

I go every 3 months for my endocrinologist, and my primary care doctor gets all the results (I'm tested for almost everything you can imagine when I go.) Is is really necessary for me to go to the Primary Care Doctor for MORE of the SAME blood work in between? I'm in good health and have no chronic issues like diabetes, high cholesterol, high BP, etc.
The thyroid issue I have is under control also. This makes no sense to me. I think it's just the All Mighty Dollar Bill talking..............

Ask your primary care doc that question.

He/she makes no additional money off of your extra blood tests (that's illegal). It may be a case of an electronic medical record that prompts for testing to be done, and does not account for tests done elsewhere.

Speak up and ask. There may actually be a reason for it, or it may be an oversight.

This sounds familier I have kidney problems and my kidney Doctor does blood work to check my kidney function, which I asume is concerned only with that organ. I also have a pain management Doctor who precrribes pain meds so my primary care Doctor does blood work to check my liver function AND everything my kidney Doctor 's blood work does not. I know it seems like a lot of blood work ,but each Doctor has specific things they are checking for. If you have a endocrinologist your good heath can probaly be credited to that fact. Remember any specialist are JUST that, they know more about certain issues then does your Primary care Doctor. I am 61 and have many issues but my overall health is very good and that is due to my meds and the Doctors who prescribe them.

They like to keep you coming back, just go if you need to.
