My father is 77 years old, had a stroke about 2 weeks ago. He is diabetic, and has Kidney failure( not on dialysis).
Just a few hours ago, he was moved to ICU and diagnosed with pnemonia. I am somewhat worried because I have heard that elderly patients normally don't make it once they catch this.
What are his chances at surviving?
Thanks!

Im sorry, your prolly reading this thinking im going to tell you the answer.. i don't know. its asham when someone who wants to live might die. it was true when someone said.. youth is wasted on the young.. alot of people are bad people who don't deserve to live.. Just go tell him you love him and spend as much time there as you can because you will miss him.. My grandma died recently and i only wish i was there more often. it was hard for a grandparent.. i can only imagine what its like to lose your own father. i am truly sorry. we have never meet but i hope you will be okay.

Chances are usually high, but it depends on the age and health of the individual. If antibiotics are taking within the first few hours chances are pretty high that he will be fine.
