The flow rate of a water hose is 16 oz/8.46min.(16 ounces of water every 8.46 minutes) How long will it take to fill a tank of 1800 cubic centimeters? Explain your answer.

We know that 1000 cubic cm = 1 liter
so 1800 cubic cm = 1.8 liter or 60.8652 oz ( US )

16 oz of water takes to fill a tank 8.46 min
1 oz ....................................... ( 8.46 / 16 ) min
so 60.8652 oz ................................ ( 8.46 / 16 ) x 60.8652 min
= 32.1824745 min

Ans ; 32.1824745 min

Thanks.

1 oz. = 2.835 * 10^(- 2) kg
16 oz = 2.835*16*10^(- 2) kg = 45.36 * 10^(- 2) kg = 0.4536 kg
1 kg of water occupies a volume of 1000 cc ( 1 cubic cm = 1 cm³ = 1 cc = 1 mL )
0.4536 kg of water occupies a volume of 0.4536*1000 cc = 453.6 cc
Rate of flow of water = 16 oz / 8.46 min
=> Rate of flow of water = R = 453.6 cc / 8.46 min = 53.62 cc / min
Volume of the Tank = V = 1800 cc
Time required to fill the Tank = t = V / R = 1800 / 53.62 min = 33.57 min
