P(fail) = 1 - 0.9 = 0.......
I need help with this two questions I do not care for the answer I looking for how to solve this problems step by step

1) P(A)= 1/7, find P(A). I know the answer is 6/7 but how do you get that

2) The probability that Luis will pass his statistics test is 0.90. Find the Probability that he will fail his statistics test? I know the answer is .100 But how do you get that

Thanks to anyone who shows me how to solve this problems step by step

there is a term called "complement" in probability. when two events A & B have probabilities that add up to 1, each is a complement of the other, so P(A) = 1 - P(B) and P(B) = 1 - P(A)

1. P(A) = 1/7) , P(A)' = 1 - 1/7 = 6/7 <------ [you wrote P(A) twice by mistake]

2. P(pass) = 0.9 , P(fail) = 1 - 0.9 = 0.1 <------
