Im doing a chemistry lab regarding hydrates one of the questions are can you suggest reasons why the procedure used inthis experiment might not be appropriate for all hydrates? so i was wondering if a hydrate could be a gas!

No, but they can react with waterto form acids or bases. Like acid rain. or NH4OH.
