I'm not sure where you got that time, or what time zone it refers to. Where I live (Ontario, Canada) the asteroid will be brightest around 9 p.m EST, even though it will be closest around 6:30 p.m. EST. That's because of the phase angle between Sun, asteroid, and observer. At its brightest, it's predicted to be magnitude 9.3, which will require at least a 60mm refractor to see. Realistically, you will need a much larger telescope, around 250mm, based on my experience with other asteroids. No matter what the numbers may say, this will be a challenging observation for even the most experienced observers. Besides a good telescope, you will need detailed, up-to-date charts of its path. This requires
