Pick the right classes.Dont waste time taking classes that are not necessary.2.Get an internship where you will learn about being an EE in the field you want to go in.Dont get an internship at a power company if you want to work with semiconductors.Experience is important.......
Like what classes should i be taking and how smart do you need to be to majoring in electrical engineering? Im currently a senior and i know i have to work hard to graduate so please dont tell me i just have to work hard

I was never a good student all the way up through my 2nd year in high school. By the time I graduated high school, I was behind in math and English but still wanted to major in engineering. So, I went to community college and took non-credit English and math to catch up. Basically started from scratch. As soon as I started my 3rd year of college, I started working in the lab doing whatever I could to learn about electrical engineering while taking classes. I've now been an engineer for eight years. So, despite you not wanting to be told to work hard......well, work hard.
Key points:
1. Pick the right classes. Don't waste time taking classes that are not necessary.
2.Get an internship where you will learn about being an EE in the field you want to go in. Don't get an internship at a power company if you want to work with semiconductors. Experience is important. The more practical stuff you know before you start interviewing, the better.
3. Talk to engineers in the industry.

It doesn't really matter. Your high school grades don't determine your major. They determine what colleges you can get into, but there are plenty of mediocre colleges that offer engineering. You should be taking math and science. Ideally you'll take calculus, but as long as you've taken pre-calc/trig, you'll be okay. As long as you've taken 2-3 years of science, you should meet most colleges' requirements.

You need to be proficient in Math, with experience in Algebra and Calculus. Any opportunity that you may have to learn the basics of electronics is helpful. Doing well in English class is important as well. Writing proposals and papers is very important when working on your BSEE.

Good Luck.
