will remove fingerprints from any surface.-fingerprints are extremely difficult to detect on a rag and on a rope . However such prints do leave traces of DNA which can be detec ted.-Probably not as chloroform will dissolve the oils that go to make up a fingerprint.........
Fingerprints can be retrieved only from smooth surfaces, not rough discontinuous materials like fabric, rope, concrete, tree bark, fur, etc. And chloroform, as well as many other organic solvents, will remove fingerprints from any surface.
