My dad told me the moon landing was faked?
My dad said that moon dust would have contaminated the lunar shuttle electronics and they wouldent be able to come back to earth? he says the lunar landing was fake. My grandpa told me the moon is a hologram but i doubt that one.

coleman say: your dads a rocket scientist? if he isn't you should talk with him
-
Manuel say: Are you sure your dad was not messing with your head?
-
aladdinwa say: And, just how would the moon dust get INTO the lunar lander electronics? The spacecraft was closed and sealed to keep the air inside so the astronauts could breath.
By the way, the space shuttle never went to the moon.
-
chelsea say: There are so many reasons the moon landing couldn't be faked that you can just pull up comedy video on youtube that can explain it to a 3-year-old.
-
say: My dad told me he was abducted by Aliens, and Grandpa said he signaled to them, "Please, take him, he's useless other than for medical experimentation!"

Ronald 7 say: They are both full of it
It happened
250, 000 people worked on the Project
Just how much could the US Government pay them to keep a fake secret ?
Certainly much more than they were paid to do the work and that was for over 10 years
Count the Man Hours
What is more, recent Probes have photographed the Landing sites, Equipment, The Rovers, Landing Stages of the Lunar Excursion Modules
Not SHUTTLES !!
Even the Jettisoned 3rd stage of an Apollo Rocket that was deliberately jettisoned to impact on the Surface on the Moon so they could record it on a Seismograph
Even the Flags have been seen
It is a ready made Scrapyard up there
These Moon Landing Fakers... I wish they were sent to Mars !!
Along with the Flat Earthers

ob1knob say: Is he the same Dad who told you about Santa and the Tooth Fairy?
However, he's right about one thing: sharp and abrasive Moon dust is dangerous and harmful.
Not to electronic though, but since Apollo 11 found out it electrostatically stucks to spacesuits, NASA worried it could damage them and eventually cause a leak.
It's harmful to the lungs too.
Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt accidentally breathed in some of the moon dust they tracked back into the LEM.
He sneezed a lot and had watering eyes. He called that "lunar hay fever" but it wasn't, it was irritation from sharp thin dust particles.
The whole Moon dust problem was not expected prior to Apollo missions. and would be a a moor issue for future long term missions to the Moon and maybe to Mars.
Fortunately, NASA has taken it seriously and is testing electrically charged cloth in the ISS
Also back then the Apollo landers were not called shuttles, but LEM or LM for Lunar (Excursion) Module

busterwasmycat say: Is your dad an engineer that knows such things? On the face of it, I do not see any obligation for moondust to destroy the electronics even if it had access, which seems pretty obviously preventable. Who would be stupid enough to ignore such a basic possible problem when spending BILLIONS of dollars? To believe that claim, then, requires that you believe that the entire set of scientists and engineers who worked on the program are basically incompetent buffoons. I suppose that is possible, but really, do you think it is remotely likely?
We are smart enough to get there through all the myriad problems that we have never encountered before, but too stupid to realize that dust could be a problem. Does that seem likely to you?

Fred say: The Russians and the Americans were in a space race during the 1960s to be the first to land a man on the moon. Unfortunately for the Russians the boss of the Russian space program died and so did any hope of Russia winning the race to the moon. Russia would have monitored the American Apollo 11 flight to see if the Americans really did go to the moon. Had the Americans faked the moon mission the Russians would have known and exposed them. The signals from the mission at the time of the space walk had to be retrieved at the Parkes Radio Telescope in Australia which was the only space telescope that was in position where the signals could be received in the world at that time of the day. Australia saw the moon walk half a second before anywhere else in the world. The Parkes radio telescope at the time was one of the best in the world and apparently 50 years later is still one of the best in the world. These radio telescopes aim extremely accurately and so there could not be any mistaking where the Apollo 11 command module was at the time.
The other evidence the moon landing was real was the reflector left at the landing site that any well equipped scientist around the world can fire a laser at and catch the reflected beam and work out the exact distance between the Earth and the moon. The TV show "Big Bang Theory" actually had the guys up on the roof of their apartment building firing a laser at this reflector and receiving the reflected beam in one episode.
Those born after 1969 seem sceptical that man has walked on the moon and all sorts of claims have been made that the video was falsified but those who make these claims do not realise in low gravity and severely bright light as on the moon things behave differently than how they behave in earth. Some say the flag fluttered on the moon but the reality of very low gravity and no atmosphere the movement of planting the flag it keeps moving way longer than it would on Earth where gravity and air pressure would stop its movement very quickly. Then some say why cant you see the stars in the sky but the fact is the sunlight on the moon is much brighter than on earth as the atmosphere on earth cuts back the power of the sun. The camera must have a very small iris to limit the light coming into it and with the extreme brightness in sunlight on the moon with this small Iris things like stars do not show up.
I saw a documentary that the still photographs were faked as in the extreme heat in sunshine and extreme cold in shadows no film could survive such a temperature fluctuations. In the extreme moon cold any lubricant in the camera mechanism would have frozen preventing the film from being wound on. There is a possibility the still pictures were faked but the rest was real. There were no digital cameras back then and the TV signal was sent on a system called "slow scan television" at a very slow scan rate as they did not have the technology at the time to send a wideband television signal like the signal normal televisions received as the power to get that sort of signal to earth would have taken huge power that the Command module that relayed the signal from those on the moon. That is why the TV pictures are so grainy as it was the only way they could beam the pictures back to earth was to do them in very low resolution at a very slow scan rate.
For us who witnessed the Moon walk on TV there was no doubt that it was for real and the evidence is there but still many make up sceptic stories trying to prove it was not real.

Luke say: Your dad is wrong. There's much finer dust in your house yet it hasn't stopped all electronics from working.

funney say: hes right

sparrow say: Why does your Dad think the electronics parts were left exposed to the elements (dust, etc).
The scientists who designed the space shuttle were smarter than that.
Sorry that your Dad has misled you.
