If man really landed on moon, why there's no any such missions after1969

Apollo 8 rounded the moon, and Apollo 7 was the first manned Apollo mission that took place in space. These were all done to gain the necessary experience for a lunar landing, and they prepared themselves thoroughly. Before those missions came many other tests, not to mention many other manned and unmanned missions to space performed both by the US and the USSR.......

This was actually the idea when NASA proposed the development of the Space Shuttle in the early 1970s as a quick and inexpensive way to get astronauts and payloads to low Earth orbit as the first step of their journey further out into space. While a remarkable flying machine, the Space Shuttle was subject to political meddling, its development was never adequately funded, took too much time to develop, cost too much to operate, and consumed too much of NASA's resources so that NASA couldn't develop the rest of the infrastructure needed to establish the permanent Lunar base.

Don't forget that they didn't simply go the moon "on the first try". The first landing mission was called Apollo 11 for a reason. Before that came Apollo 10, where they tested the lunar lander in orbit around the moon and flew very close to its surface. (Fun fact: The ascent stage wasn't fully fueled, in order to prevent the astronauts from giving in to the temptation of actually landing).

Apollo 9 was also for testing the lander in space, but it was done in low earth orbit. Apollo 8 rounded the moon, and Apollo 7 was the first manned Apollo mission that took place in space. These were all done to gain the necessary experience for a lunar landing, and they prepared themselves thoroughly. Before those missions came many other tests, not to mention many other manned and unmanned missions to space performed both by the US and the USSR.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- NASA's effort to launch a pair of satellites to Earth's radiation belts has been delayed until late next week because of Tropical Storm Isaac.

The countdown was halted at the four-minute mark in the wee hours of Saturday -- for the second time in as many days.
