No one really knows. Jupiter may protect Earth, it may fling things towards Earth, it may do both.

Our understanding of the evolution of solar systems is in its' infancy, it may be decades before there is a definitive answer your question.

The great gravity of Jupiter stabilizes the orbit of other planets and intercepts most stray asteroids and comets. If it was not for Jupiter serving as a large target, we would have very frequent impacts like the one that wiped out the dinosaurs, instead of one every 70 million years only.
It would be doubtful that life could really advance, or even survive, under such a bombardment.
So, yeah, without Jupiter, Earth could be unsuitable for life.

Where did you hear this non-sense? Jupiter, earth and other planets are part of the solar system. Many events took place which brought us to where we are today. So the talk that Jupiter did not exist does not make any sense.

yes its true. the solar system is made perfect. without any part of it earth wouldnt be like it is today.
jupiters gravity pulls away many asteroids coming towards earth

Without Jupiter and Neptune, asteroid impacts would be far more common, creating conditions for Earth that would never allow advanced life to develop.
