Theories on time travel are complicated. Black Holes are our current theory. you see, space and time are blended into this thing called space-time - they are linked together, and if you think of space like a fabric - a black hole we believe could possibly be a gateway to a different part of space.
For example if we wanted to get to the other side of the universe - instead of going in a straight line to our destination we could jump through a womhole and end up on the other side (think of a piece of paper. the paper represents the fabric of space. if you take the corners of that paper and bend the paper so that to 2 corners are touching - the point where they touch is a wormhole. you could theoretically get from one corner of space to the other. and since space and time are linked... another point in time.)
Unfortunately the amount of energy it would take to go through a black hole without being ripped to shreds... its a lot more then we are capable of making. but Time travel IS theoretically possible - there is no law that exists saying that we could not travel through time!
