Yes, but you may not be applying yourself properly.
When I was younger I always wanted to be a veterinarian, but got really bad grades and thought I was dumb. I wasn't really dumb, I was just not trying hard enough. I had my mind on other things, like a lot of kids do.
I dropped out of high school at the age of 15.
I went back to school to get my high school diploma at the age of 24, and discovered, I'm secretly smart. I don't think anyone is too "dumb" to do well in life and be what they want to be. It's all in how bad you want it, and how hard you're willing to work for it.
I'm now about to start my second year of pre-veterinary studies in the fall. This stuff doesn't come easy to me, and there are some people who I'll admit are smarter, but I've been working really hard and am doing very well. There is no guarantee that I'll get into veterinary school, as it is very competitive, but as of right now, all my grades are good enough to be considered at the end of next year.
I definitely wouldn't recommend taking the route I took. Right now, school is free for you. I paid thousands just to finish high school.
I also wish I would have taken this stuff seriously while I was younger, because I'm going to be in my mid-thirties when I graduate vet school! Not cool. All my friends have careers, nice homes and money, while I'm pinching pennys for school and had to move back home with my parents (very uncool at my age!)
Do your best in school now. Don't let your social life distract you. Your social life will be there in the summer and when you're finished university.
Good luck!

Yes, there are less vet schools to get into so more competition and also you are STILL a doctor and need to learn medicines, chemistry, bio, math, etc.
