What's a test that would distinguish between lactic acid and acrylic acid

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-07-18] [Hit: ]
05% KMnO4, bromine water, etc. while lactic acid will not.......
what would the results be for each acid?

-
pka of acrylic = 4.35
pka of lactic = 3.86
so throw one in some water, test pH, throw the other in different water (same amounts) test pH, the one with the lower pH will be lactic acid

-
Acrylic acid contains a C=C so it should react with 0.05% KMnO4, bromine water, etc. while lactic acid will not.
