What is the ratio of the cone areas of two speakers having diameters of 10.5 cm and 21.5 cm? Express as a single number greater than one. Do you have to account for the fact that the cones are cone-shaped, not flat?

What is the ratio of the cone areas of two speakers having diameters of 21.5 cm and 36.5 cm? Express as a single number greater than one.

What is the ratio of the cone areas of two speakers having diameters of 10.5 cm and 36.5 cm? Express as a single number greater than one. (For further thought: Can you get this answer from just the answer to the previous two questions?)

The shape doesn't matter. If it is a ratio of areas for any similar shapes then the areas are in the ratio of the linear lengths squared ie

21.5²/10.5²

If you have two similar shapes, then the ratio of areas is the square of the ratio of lengths such as diameter. So the ratio of areas in the first case is (10.5:21.5)^2, and similarly for the other questions.

The last one is asking, if you know the ratio A:B and the ratio B:C, can you get the ratio A:C?
