I'm looking for about 1L to 2 Litres worth. I've been looking at SAE motor oil but its pretty expensive. 5 liquids of varying viscosity would be optimal. Nothing too thick like honey, it has to flow out of a tank and through a 30 cm pipe that is 7mm in diameter. I have one already; water. Dynamic viscosity is what I’m interested in I believe. It’s for an experiment for school.

Motor Oil, although not cheap any more is still the easiest way to get liquids (besides water) that have known viscosities. Walmart often has inexpensive - off brand - oils at $2 - $3 / quart. A quart of 30Wt, and one of 50 Wt, and then mix up your own 36.6 Wt (1/3 50 Wt, 2/3 30 Wt) and 43.3 (2/3 50 Wt, 1/3 30 Wt) will give you four defined viscosities for around $6.

How about cooking oil, as you can use all the different types (olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil)? If you heat the honey to a certain temperature, it will flow more easily as the viscosity decreases as the temperature increases. You could also try, ketchup, molasses, chocolate syrup and maple syrup etc.

heinz ketchup or catsup as some call it
might be cheap in bulk and would definitely have viscosity to flow...
