I recently heard about a chemistry experiment where atoms were shot through a hole in wall. the first time the hole lined up with the launcher. The second time a second hole was added and the first was moved so now the holes were to the left and right of the barrel and when the atom was fired it hit the wall and didn't go through. that was when it was being observed. the third time no video equipment watched or human eyes and somehow the atom went through the holes and landed on the other side of the wall. Somehow the atom split and each halve wen through a hole and then it reconnected in the direct line of the barrel of the launcher. I heard that this is the the watcher theory I believe. I'm not sure that's why I'm asking what it's called but the theory says that the purpose of humans is to watch so that the universe says in order. Has anyone heard of this before or know the name of this theory?

The experiment basically is Young's two slit experiment and the theory is quantum theory. The role of the observer in quantum theory depends on some finer interpretations and is more a subject of philosophy than of physics.
