i was going down stairs into my basment i was about to step on the step when i herd this lous sort of hissing sound and i got freaked out so i looked around but i count find any thing then i went down the stairs to my dads basment and asked him if he sprayed any thing he didnt and i still have no idea what made that sound

A snake? when it rains, the snakes have to come out of the ground or they'll drown. I found one in my backyard once.
