The moon "acting" very strangely earlier tonight? Was there a lunar eclipse

If something unusual happens to it, rest assured that it will be on the news and all over the Internet.......
At around 3 am, I stepped outside of my house on the front porch for a smoke. I was observing the night sky until I looked in the direction of the moon. I noticed it would change into different shapes and colors periodically before reverting back to its general shape, and sometimes, it would appear to me to just disappear from the night sky and reappear a few seconds later.

I've tried searching for anything on google that would hint at a lunar eclipse in Toronto, Ontario, Canada tonight but couldn't find anything. What could explain this phenomenon if it is not a lunar eclipse? I personally have never seen a lunar eclipse, so I wouldn't know if it was or not.

Thanks in advance.

The moon was quite low down so it was all down to atmospheric effects and clouds.

Eclipses only occur at full moon which is not til august 2nd

Might have been something you were smoking.

On a serious note, the only thing I can think of is that because the Moon was low on the horizon, the air currents distorted its image somewhat. There was no lunar eclipse (which only happens during the full moon), and the Moon is perfectly normal. If something unusual happens to it, rest assured that it will be on the news and all over the Internet.
