Only to something ALIVE may anything else be good. A yeast or fungal infection is bad to the person afflicted with it. If that person were already dead, then the infection wouldn't be important: nothing matters to the dead or to the inanimate.

The mineral part of our planet, the part that isn't alive, is likewise unable to have interests to which anything else might be contrary. So, no. The comparison is a poor one.
