I have noticed on medication commercials how many side effects they have. Sometimes the medication sounds worse than the stuff it is curing. I know it is the only way to cure things. This is just a question to see people's opinion on it.

They just like to list every possible side effect, it's not like the patient will experience all of them. And if they do experience one that they don't want to live with, they can try a different medication that is similar.
I actually appreciate the commercials stating all of the possible side effects; doctors often don't tell you.
Basically, I think that if you are going to start taking a medication, you need to research it before you take it so that you know just what you are getting yourself into. And ask your doctor questions! Because they aren't going to tell you if you don't...

They have to cover their bases for legal reasons. Basically any side effects they observed during trials, even if it occurred with less than one percent of trial users, has to be listed. That being said an actual doctor or a pharmacist will generally know what side effects are likely to occur. Also most medications advertised on television aren't actually "cures," they simply treat symptoms.
