which motor neuron 1.skeletal, 2.sensory,3.autonomic,4.both skeletal and autonomic must synapse on a peripheral neuron before reaching their effectors.
I thought the answer was 3. but not too sure and I can't locate the answer in my textbook or online.
any help would be appreciated.

These are not the terms I'm used to, but I tend to agree with you. I'm not even exactly sure what they mean by a 'sensory motor neuron', although I guess they're talking about afferent fibers...sometimes they try to simplify and wind up being more confusing.
Assuming, though, that what they mean by an 'autonomic motor neuron' is what I would call a visceral motor neuron (these are the ones that innervate the heart and smooth muscles and synapse on an autonomic ganglion before reaching the end organ, for example), then I think you're right.
