So i take clonazepam for hppd, would it be ok to take ambien for insomnia as well? I know clonazepam is also used for insomnia, but it has no effect on my sleep.

Since Clonazepam can also be used to treat insomnia, you could see adverse effects from combining it with Ambien, even if you do not see or feel a result from the Clonazepam. In any situation, it's probably not good to combine two drugs that both require monitoring. Particular effects resulting from improper usage or dosage, taking at unprescribed times, or prolonged use of these two drugs together can lead to respiratory depression, decreased motor coordination, decreased mental alertness, and probably several other side effects.
