Many markers use volatile hydrocarbons as a solvent for the ink.
Many of these chemicals (xylene, toluene, trichloroethane [thinner for Liquid Paper], petrol) interfere with nerve transmissions when inhaled in sufficient amounts.
They can be fatal, first-time and the 'high' if you could call it that is not very pleasant.
Kinda like being hit over the head with a frying pan, without the pain.
That comes later when you have a wicked headache or, if you're really lucky, you wake up in the ER room without brain damage.
Be careful.
There are much nicer highs which can be had.

The chemicals in products used for huffing, including felt-tip markers, are actual POISONS that were never meant to go through the bloodstream. Please do NOT inhale ANY types of fumes or chemical vapors. My friend actually has a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from huffing at the age of 12, now in her 30s.
