How to factor 12x^3-52x^2+16

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-10-17] [Hit: ]
Im assuming theres an x after 16, since the factored form has an x with last term.= 4x (x - 4) (3x - 1)-the exact answer isnt so pretty...(x-4.......
Ok so far i have
2(6^3-26x^2+8x)
but im confused how am i suppose to get factors that get the product 16 and sum up to 26? i can't seem to get it =/ please help or correct me ty!

You need to factor a 4x:
4x(3x² - 13x + 4)

4x(3x² - 12x - x + 4)

4x(x - 4)(3x - 1)

You didn't factor enough. Each term in parentheses is still divisible by 2 and by x, so you need to factor out 4x. I'm assuming there's an "x" after 16, since the factored form has an x with last term.

12x^3 - 52x^2 + 16x

= 4x (3x^2 - 13x + 4)

= 4x (3x^2 - 12x - x + 4)

= 4x (3x (x - 4) - 1 (x - 4))

= 4x (x - 4) (3x - 1)

the exact answer isnt so pretty...

(x-4.2)*(x-0.59)*(x+0.52)

I did find this factorization though...

4*(3x^3-13x^2+4)

Hope it helped...
