.Notice the difference between multiplying powers directly and when brackets are involved-Yes you got that last one correct.......
Can someone help me out with these few problems:
I've figured out how to do the simpler ones

Simplify the following:
(z^-5)^2

my answer: z^-3

but these are harder:

Simplify the expressions:

(x^2)(x^6)-5(x^2)^4

and

20R^2(4R-3T^3)

i have others i need to do, but i think if i got help on these, i'd understand how to do the rest.

1]
first one

[z^-5]^2 is z^-5 x z^-5 = z^-10

.....you have done z^-5 x z^2 = z^-3.....this is not correct

2]
(x^2)(x^6} = x^8

- 5(x^2](x^2)(x^2)(x^2) = - 5x^8

so we get - 4x^8

3]
Open the bracket

80R^3 - 60R^2T^3........really what you started with is simpler
