Z tables show the area between the mean and a tail of the normal distribution, i.e 50% either side of the mean.
So area of 7.6% lying to the left of Z is shown in the tables as 50% - 7.6% = 42.4%
Look up 0.424 in the body of the table to find the Z value = 1.535
