Can someone help, Ecuations envolving decimals and fraccions

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-09-20] [Hit: ]
thanks :)-1.3-1/3s = 0.25s+4.1.3-1/3s = 1/4s+4.1.......
Can someone explain to me in detail what to do with this math problem.

1.3-1/3*s=0.25*s+4.12

thats 1.3 - onethird (s) equals 0.25 (s) + 4.12

I dont know what to do... thanks :)

1.3-1/3s = 0.25s+4.12
1.3-1/3s = 1/4s+4.12
1.3 = 1/4s + 1/3s + 4.12

Now, we need to add 1/4 + 1/3. Find the LCM of 4 and 3, being 12, and put the fractions into terms with denominator 12.

1.3 = 3/12s + 4/12s + 4.12
1.3 = 7/12s + 4.12

Now we need to subtract 4.12 from both sides. Another way to think of it is, 1.3-4.12 = -4.12+1.3 = -(4.12-1.3) = -(2.82) = -2.82

-2.82 = 7/12s

Now we need to divide by 7/12. Remember that dividing by a fraction is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal (the reciprocal of 7/12 is 12/7. Just reverse the top and bottom.)

-2.82*12/7 = s
-33.84/7 = s

Now it's just a matter of simplification.

-3384/700 = s
-1692/350 = s
-846/175 = s

We can't simplify this any further, so we're done!

-
1.3 - (1/3)s = 0.25 s + 4.12

13/10 - s/3 = s/4 + 412/100

13/10 - s/3 = s/4 + 103/25

lcm(10, 3, 4, 25) = 300
So multiply through by 300

390 - 100s = 75s + 1236

-175s = 846

s = -846 / 175 = -4.83 428571 428571 428571 ...
