The measure of an angle exceeds 2 times its supplement by 6. Find the measure of the angle.
And
The measure of an angle exceeds 7 times its complement by 10. Find the measure of the angle.

Could someone explain how to do this step by step and solve it? I have thirty of these and I have no idea how to do them :( Thank You!

Complementary Angle
Two Angles are Complementary if they add up to 90 degrees (a Right Angle). They don't have to be next to each other, just so long as the total is 90 degrees.

Two Angles are Supplementary if they add up to 180 degrees.

1) Let the angle be x. Its supplement = (180 -x)

x = 2(180-x ) +6

x = 360 -2x +6

3x = 366

x = 122 degrees ANSWER

CHECK

supplement = 58
2X 58 = 116
116 +6 = 122

2) Let the angle be x Its complement = ( 90 -x )

x = 7( 90-x) +10

x = 630 -7x +10

8x =640

x = 80 degrees ANSWER

CHECK
complement = 10

7X 10 = 70

70 +10 = 80
