but how do we get there?so,......
Can someone explain to me how this works? If m varies inversely as p², and m=20 when p=2, find m when p=5. The answer is 16/5, but how do we get there?

-
m varies inversely to p^2
==> m = k/p^2 for some k
if m = 20 when p = 2
then 20 = k/4
==> k = 80
so, m = 80/p^2
when p = 5
m = 80/25 = 16/5

-
m = k/p^2
k = 20 * 4 = 80

m = 80/25 = 16/5

-
I agree with the above answers
