well last week i got this spring break packet, most of it was really easy but i came with this really annoying question that was : Determine which numbers are rational or irrational. the numbers were

.3333333.. this numbers is repeating
square root of 3
1 5/8
- 1.247
pls i really need to know which is rational or irrationals please Helpp

Irrational numbers have the property whose decimals neither terminate nor repeat.
Rational numbers can be written in the form m/n, where m and n are integers and n is non-zero.

1/4 is obviously a rational number, with m = 1 and n = 4.
0.3(repeating) is rational because it is 1/3.
sqrt(3) is irrational; its decimals neither terminate nor repeat.

1 5/8 is rational; it can be expressed as 13/8.
-1.247 is rational; it can be expressed as -1247/1000.

If it can be written as a fraction or RATIO, then it is a RATIOnal number.

1/4 is a ratio, therefore it's rational.
.333333 is equal to 1/3, and it's repeating. All repeating decimals are rational.
Square root of 3 is irrational.
1 5/8 is a ratio, so it's rational.
-1.247 is rational, because all terminating decimals are rational.

1/4 = rational.
.333333 = rational.

1 5/8 = rational.
-1.247 = rational.
