Solving for indicated variables

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-01-23] [Hit: ]
y=-3+3/4x or y=-3+.Most people put the variables first,y=3/4x-3 or y=.Hope this helps!......
3x-4y=12; for y.
I know this is a simple problem, but I've been out of math for awhile. The I know the answer because its in the back of the back. But could someone help with the steps?

No worries, we all get out of practice sometimes. Here are the steps:
3x-4y=12 - Original Problem
You subtract 3x from both sides and then get:
-4y=12-3x
Then you divide both sides by -4 and you get your answer:
y=-3+3/4x or y=-3+.75x
Most people put the variables first, so it is easier on the eye:
y=3/4x-3 or y=.75x-3

Hope this helps! ;)

y = (3x-12)/4 :)
