. but i dont know how to correct it.The reactants in a heat of formation reaction must be elements in their standard form.A heat of formation reaction is based on the formation of a compound from its elements, thus elements have to be the reactants.-The heat of formation involves only elements on the reactant side of the reaction.......
True or False: If false, please correct the statement to make it true.

"The reactants in a heat of formation reaction can be both elements or compounds as long as they are in their standard form "

True or false? Apparently its false... but i don't know how to correct it.

The correct statement should read:
"The reactants in a heat of formation reaction must be elements in their standard form."

A heat of formation reaction is based on the formation of a compound from its elements, thus elements have to be the reactants.

The heat of formation involves only elements on the reactant side of the reaction.
e.g. 2 C + 2 H2 + O2 -----------> 2 CH2O
not 2 C + 2 H2O ---------x-----------> 2 CH2O
