Add the ratios 5:4:2 which will give 5+4+2=11
Total cars sold=44
Gareth sold 5*44/11=20 cars
the 2nd friend sold 4*44/11=16 cars
the 3rd friend sold 2*44/11=8 cars
Total cars sold=44
Gareth sold 5*44/11=20 cars
the 2nd friend sold 4*44/11=16 cars
the 3rd friend sold 2*44/11=8 cars
