2 Geometry questions. 10 points (Triangles)

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-09-15] [Hit: ]
Equilateral so the sides must be the same x+12 = 3x - 82x = 20x = 10 // Each side is 102. Two sides are same because its an isosceles. So randomly pick two sides to check.2x + 5 = 2x - 6 does not work. we get 0 = -112x + 5 = 3x - 3 x = 8 This works ( gives you a positive)So replace the xs and youd get 21, 10,......

DONE.

Hope this helped!

1)ok you take any two sides of the first triangle like

2x + 2 = x + 12

x = 10
(Then you plug it back in for the measure of the side)
10 + 12 = 22
Each side is 22

2) You take two sides and again equal them

3x - 3 = 2x + 5
x = 8

When you plug it back in, you get the sides to be 21, 21, and 10

1. Equilateral so the sides must be the same
x+12 = 3x - 8
2x = 20
x = 10 // Each side is 10

2. Two sides are same because its an isosceles. So randomly pick two sides to check.
2x + 5 = 2x - 6 does not work. we get 0 = -11
2x + 5 = 3x - 3
x = 8 This works ( gives you a positive)
So replace the x's and you'd get 21, 10, 21

1)x+12=3x-8=2x+2 leads to x=10 so each side 22

2)two sides the same 2x+5 cant equal 2x-6 so one of these equals the third side so lets solve both see which makes sense
2x+5=3x-3 2x-6=3x-3
x=8 x=-3 well if x=-3 then two sides be neg so x=8
2(8)+5 3(8)-3 2(8)-6
16+5 24-3 16-6
21 21 10 <
