Problem: Pump A can fill a tank of water in 5 hours. Pump B can fill the same tank in 8 hours. How long does it take the two pumps working together to fill the tank?(round your answer to the nearest minute).
My solution:
One hour pump A can fill 1/5 tank. One hour pump B can fill 1/8 tank.
If two pumps working together, one hour two pumps can fill:
1/5+1/8= 13/40 tank
Therefore, it takes two tanks:
1: 13/40 =40/13 =3 1/13 hours
3 1/13 hours= 3h 5’
Any comment?

It sounds very good, and we all use shortcut English when working math problems ( we don't really worry about grammar).
But I would suggest this could sound better:
In one hour...
If two pumps work together...
Or
with two pumps working together...
In one hour two pumps..
Also, in the answer, 3 1/13 hours = 3 hrs 5 min
I have only seen 5' for 5 minutes when working with degrees, or else for 5 feet, but not with time.
Hoping this helps!
