I'm in 5th grade and I don't understand, "Fractions and Decimals". (I borrow my mom's account lol) Can you guys explain, "Fractions and Decimals" problems? You have to divide? Or what? Please explain to me!!

Hi Hannah,
1) You can change a fraction to a decimal by dividing.
So 3/4 means 3 divided by 4. Now you have to use long division, adding enough zeroes.
..._____. So bring the decimal point straight up and do the division as usual.
4)3.00
...0.75
4)3.00
....28
--------
.......20
.......20
---------
So 3/4 = 0.75
2) OR you can try to convert your fraction to tenths, hundredths, ot thousandths...
So 3/4= ?/100
4 goes into 100, 25 times, and 25*3= 75
Then 3/4= 75/100= 0.75
Hoping this helps you, but your teacher can show you better with one to one explanations!
