If you too busy to show solution, you can give me the answer only. However, youd better give me your solution.Thank you.-1.......
1.You must pay 9% sales tax on all prepared foods. If a Happy Meal cost $3.25, what is the price after sales tax (rounded to the cent) ?

2.Phillip weighs 20% less than Brandon. What percent would Phillip need to gain to weigh the same as Brandon.?
If you too busy to show solution, you can give me the answer only. However, you'd better give me your solution.
Thank you.

-
1. 1.09*3.25 = $3.54

2. P = 0.8B
B = P/0.8 = 1.25P
Let G be the mass gain required
P+G=B
G = 1.25P-P = 0.25P
0.25*100 = 25%

-
1. $3.25 x 109% (or 1.09) = $3.54 (Or otherwise, $3.25 x 9% (or 0.09) = 0.2925, add it to $3.25 = $3.54)

2. Phillip = 80, Brandon = 100 (taking percentages as whole numbers for simplicity's sake)
P x Y(variable) = 100 = B (as in, Phillip's weight x a number = Brandon's weight)
therefore 80Y = 100,
Y = 100/80 = 1.25 (Dividing RHS by 80 to isolate Y, 1.25 is the number of times you would multiply 80 to get 100, therefore: )
Phillip needs to weigh 1.25 times more than what he currently weighs, i.e. needs to gain 25%

-
1) Nx cost/100= 109x3.25/100=3.54

2)Brandonweight =100x

Phillips =80x

gain required 20x

80x: ::20x
100 (?) 20xx100/80x=25%

-
1.09 X 3.25 = 3.5425

Answer 3.54 $

2) Let Brandon's weight be 100x

Phillip's weight = 80x

Gain required = 20x

gain % = 20x / 80x X100 = 25% ANSWER

-
9% x 3.25 = 0.2925
3.25 + 0.2925 = 3.5425 (answer)

20%?

I'm pretty sure this is right. If you are unsure ask your teacher of guardian.

% X acutuall cost/number Divided by 100 will give u the the % of ur number
