A patient is brought into the hospital suffering from an overdose of salicylic acid. Her blood pH is close to 7.0 instead of a normal 7.35.
The hospital gives the patient an IV containing sodium bicarbonate ( Na+ HCO_3- ) Use this chemical formula for the carbonate buffer system to show this would affect the pH in the girl's blood. Anyone have any idea on how to solve this question???? Thanks in advance for any advice!

now the patient has mort H^+ in his body than OH^-
so the extra H^+ work with HCO_3-
H^+ + HCO_3- ---->H2O(l) + CO_2(g)
if his PH was bit higher than 7.35, let's say 8
then the extra OH^- work with HCO_3-
OH^- + HCO_3- ---> H2O(l) + CO_3 2-(aq)
so the extra H^+ work with HCO_3-
H^+ + HCO_3- ---->H2O(l) + CO_2(g)
