Yes, sort of. AC voltages are expressed in RMS values. The peak value of a sine wave is sqrt(2) times the RMS value. When a sine wave is rectified the output is roughly equal to the peak input voltage minus the diode drops. The DC value will be about 1.4 times the RMS value.
