0g of H2O?A)18.B)36.C)72.D)86.Please explain why,......
If the solubility of NaCl at 25C is 36.2g/100g H2O, what mass of NaCl can be in 50.0g of H2O?

A)18.1g
B)36.2g
C)72.4g
D)86.2g

Please explain why, and hopefully include formulas

A)18.1g

Assuming the temperature remains constant at 25°C, all you have to look at is the amount of H2O. If NaCl is 36.2g in 100g of H2O and what they're asking for is the mass of NaCl in HALF of 100, then all you have to do is divide 36.2 by 2 to get 18.1g. It really is as simple as that.

look on your reference table!
based on my reference table, (regents new york), what ever mass you get from the curve divide by 2 sicne its 50 grams of H2O
