Compare the hydroxide ion concentration

Compare the hydroxide ion concentration and pH in each pair.Sr(OH)2 (aq) vs. Ba(OH)2 (aq)-KOH is a strong base (complete ionization) while OCl- is weak. So KOH will have a much greater [OH-] and a higher pH.Both of these are strong electrolytes (complete ionization) that give 2 moles of OH- per mole of salt. Thus [OH-] is the same for both as is the pH.......
Each of the solutions has a concentration of 0.1 mol/L. Compare the hydroxide ion concentration and pH in each pair.

OCl (aq) vs KOH (aq)

Sr(OH)2 (aq) vs. Ba(OH)2 (aq)

KOH is a strong base (complete ionization) while OCl- is weak. So KOH will have a much greater [OH-] and a higher pH.

Both of these are strong electrolytes (complete ionization) that give 2 moles of OH- per mole of salt. Thus [OH-] is the same for both as is the pH.
