Is it true that children born of incest are at greater risk of genetic deformities? And how so?
What about the first humans? They had to keep inbreeding until there were many many people and the gene pool diversified yet everything seemed to work out. Is incest really as dangerous to unborn children as is made out to be. Genuinely curious and completely ignorant.

answers:
say: Possibly.

w say: because its more likely that the same alleles are combined. so its less heterozygosity.
basically you can say the more genetic diversity the better.

Steven say: If the parents have different genes then it is unlikely that both sets of genes will have the same defect, so the children can use the good gene. But when the parents are related, the odds of both parents having the same defect are high, leaving the children with no source of working genes.

? say: There was NOT a single pair of First Humans (Adam and Eve). Evolution does NOT work on Individuals but whole populations. The entire tribe, troop, clan, etc slowly drifts from one species to another. What incest there was, was not usually between closely related individuals. It was often common for males of one tribe to to steal females from another tribe.

Incest is bad because closely related individuals share the same genes. and thus, have a greater probability of genetic disease or birth defects.

Gray Bold say: Genetically, consanguinity derives from the reduction in variation due to meiosis that occurs because of the smaller number of near ancestors. Since all humans share between 99.6% and 99.9% of their genome, consanguinity only affects a very small part of the sequence. If two siblings have a child, the child only has two rather than four grandparents. In these circumstances the probability that the child inherits two copies of a harmful recessive gene (allele) rather than one which would not have immediate effects is much increased.

Pearl say: it could be since the genes are too sinnilar
-
? say: Its been tied to the lowest and most elites.
I think Ted Bundy was the product of daughter-father.

Mr. Smartypants say: When Cain killed Abel, he was banished. He traveled East to the Land of Nod where there were people and cities and everything. He found a wife there. Perhaps Adam and Eve were not the ONLY people on earth. I don't think the story even actually says they were. Nor does it mention Adam and Eve having any daughters!
